Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Demi Permanent Color Short Hair.
Demi-permanent color on short hair typically lasts 4–8 weeks. Fade depends on hair porosity, shampoo frequency and sun exposure. We recommend color-safe products and sulfate-free shampoos to prolong vibrancy and schedule touch-ups as color gently fades.
Demi permanent blends and softens gray rather than lifting pigment completely. It can cover light to moderate gray effectively, especially on short hair. For 100% resistant gray you may need permanent color; we'll assess during consultation and recommend the best approach.
Yes — demi permanent color is generally gentle and suitable for hair previously treated with chemical services. It deposits color without strong lifting, reducing damage risk. We perform a strand and history check to ensure compatibility and choose gentle formulas.
Appointments for Demi Permanent Color on short hair usually take 45–75 minutes, depending on consultation, coverage needs and processing time. Short styles are quicker than long hair, and we allow time for consultation, application and finishing styling.
Demi permanent color can subtly shift and enrich tone but won’t dramatically lighten hair. It’s ideal for enhancing natural shades, warming or cooling tones, and refreshing color. For major tonal changes, we may recommend an alternate service.
Use color-safe shampoo and conditioner, limit washing to preserve color, and avoid hot styling tools when possible. Apply UV protectant and deep-conditioning treatments weekly. Schedule regular gloss or demi-refresh appointments to maintain shine and vitality for short hair.
