Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Quarter Head Highlights.
Quarter Head Highlights usually last six to eight weeks depending on hair growth, color contrast, and your maintenance routine. Use sulfate-free shampoo, cool water rinses, and color-safe products. Schedule touch-ups when root contrast becomes visible to keep the look fresh.
Because Quarter Head Highlights involve fewer foils and focused placement, they cause less overall lightening than full highlights. When performed with professional products and proper processing, damage is minimal. Your stylist can recommend bond-building treatments to further protect hair during and after coloring.
Appointments usually range from forty-five to seventy-five minutes depending on hair length, thickness, and desired brightness. Consultation, targeted color application, processing, and a quick toner or glaze are included. We provide an estimated duration when booking so you can plan accordingly.
Yes — we can usually work with previously colored hair. Your stylist will assess existing color, porosity, and condition to determine the best lightening approach. Sometimes a color correction or strand test is recommended to achieve even, healthy-looking results.
Use color-safe, sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner, wash with cool water, and limit heat styling. Apply weekly deep-conditioning or bond-repair treatments and a UV protectant spray to prevent fading. Schedule regular glosses or toner refreshes to maintain brightness and tone.
Absolutely — Quarter Head Highlights can be tailored for straight, wavy, curly, and coiled textures and various lengths. Placement, size of sections, and color choice are adjusted to flatter movement and face shape. Your stylist will customize the technique for your hair.
