Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Takedown (My Work Only, No Braids).

Appointments typically take 45 to 90 minutes depending on the extension method used, amount of hair, and how much detangling is needed. Exact timing provided at booking; please arrive with hair dry and free of heavy product to speed the process.

Renee uses gentle, professional removal techniques and appropriate dissolvers or tools to minimize stress. When performed correctly, takedown should not damage healthy hair; we assess risk, treat fragile areas, and recommend restorative services if needed.

A consultation is recommended for first-time clients, complex installs, or concerns about hair integrity. It allows assessment, timing estimate, and personalized aftercare planning. Consults can be scheduled separately or included with your appointment where available.

This service is reserved for work performed by Renee. If extensions were installed elsewhere, please book a consult first—removal may be possible but could require extra time, different techniques, or an additional fee to ensure safe removal.

Bring any documentation or photos of the original install, and note any product use or scalp issues. Arrive with dry, untreated hair if possible. Have payment ready; we’ll provide aftercare instructions and product recommendations if needed.

If your hair and scalp are healthy, new extensions can often be applied immediately. If any damage or irritation is present, we recommend waiting one to four weeks and using strengthening treatments before reapplication.
