Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Platinum Toner, Bond Builder & Shape Up.
Typically 45–60 minutes depending on hair length and condition. We assess tone, apply bond builder, process toner, and finish with a precision shape and styling. We'll give at-home care tips to extend results.
Bond builders significantly reduce breakage by reconnecting weakened disulfide bonds during processing. They don't make hair invulnerable but markedly improve integrity, leaving strands smoother and more resilient. We recommend regular bond treatments for consistently bleached hair to maintain strength.
For most clients, every 4–6 weeks keeps platinum tone fresh and roots managed. If your hair is fragile, we may suggest shorter intervals or additional bond treatments. Your stylist will recommend a personalized schedule based on growth rate and hair condition.
Yes—purple shampoo is great for maintaining cool tones between salon visits. Use it sparingly (once or twice weekly) and follow with a hydrating conditioner. Avoid overuse, which can dry hair; your stylist can recommend a product suited to your bond-treated platinum hair.
No—the toner focuses on color and won’t cut or alter length. The Shape Up portion includes precise trimming to clean edges and remove uneven ends. If you want a different silhouette, discuss desired changes with your stylist before service.
Yes—when performed by experienced stylists using professional bond builders, it's designed to be safe. We’ll assess porosity and damage first and may modify timing or strength. In some cases additional conditioning or a staged approach is recommended to protect hair health.
